Difference Between Glucose and Fructose

Glucose

It is an aldohexose and is called grape sugar. Glucose is produced in during the process of photosynthesis which produces glucose. Glucose is the main primary substance of respiration. Their ring structure is like a pyranose type.

Fructose

It is known as ketohexose because it has a keto group. Fructose is not produced directly in photosynthesis. It is produced from glucose during respiration. Their ring structure is furanose type.
