Describe the movement of impulses along a neurone

Once any impulse produced at any receptor,it acts as a positive feedback from the next part of the neurone. And that part also becomes depolarised and thus impulse travels from receptor to the next parts of the neurone. But this movement is unidirectional because once any impulse produced at any receptor it is immediately passed through a refractory period when it comes back to its resting potential. So impulse can not come back to the receptor apain and proceeds forward. When any impulse reaches to the axon terminal it increases the permeability of the presynaptic membrane. In presence of high concentration the vesicles with neurone transmitter become fused wiwh the presynaptic membrane and release their contents to the synapse. In presence of a neurotransmitter eg. Acid, alkaline, the postsynaptic membrane becomes highly permeable to sodium ions which creates an impulse in the membrane. Thus the impulse passes across the synapse. The mitochondria present in the axon terminal helps in the synthesis of neurotransmitter by producing ATP.
