Every free nation has a flag of its own. It is the symbol of independence and sovereignty of a free country. Our beloved national flag is the symbol of our independence. It identifies that we are now free from the exploitation of any foreign nation. Our national flag is rectangle in size. It measures 5:3 or 10:6 in the ratio of length and breadth. Our national flag has two colors ; green body and red round circle in the middle. The green color identifies the ever liveliness of our nation and red color denotes rising sun promising our prosperity in future. On all national festivals it is hoisted on top of government buildings on the right hand side. Our national flag lies higher than any other flag. While it is being hoisted, all of us stand still and straight ; we sing our 'National anthem' as a mark of reverence. It is the symbol of our national spirit. Our National anthem was written by the great poet Rabindra Nath Tagor. We should uphold the honour of our national flag by paying a rich homage and hoisting it on national days.
