Education system in ancient Rome
Education in ancient Rome was highly beneficial to the lives of Roman society.Roman education provided a foundation for future developments in schooling and influenced and impacted modern society. Schooling took place in ancient Rome from a simple ancient unofficial system to a more advanced superior system when Rome was a kingdom.
Children did not go to school, but they were educated at home. Sometimes an educated person would be hired as a teacher. However, if his fathers could read and write, he would teach his son rather than explain. The educated father would teach him about Roman law, history, customs, physical training, agriculture, and military skills. The boys were also taught how to manage the farm and business. Girls were taught by their mothers to spin, sweep, and so. Things started to change later.
Around 200 B.C Rome adopted ideas from the Greeks and began to send boys to a squad out of their homes. However, only for the rich were education depended on which they were born into rich put a great deal of faith and education. Wealthier boys and girls were educated by their fathers or educated people until they were six years old.
Then they were sent to school until they were 12 to 13 years old. They learn more advanced studies such as Latin, Greek, and grammar. They are also taught how to read and write instead of using the whiteboard in an expo marker. Furthermore, they owned an abacus to learn basic mathematics. They use a stylus and wax tablet rather than paper and pencil for writing. A boy will not allow writing on paper since acquired а larger expense unless they mention that they could write well.
