Autumn Season

Like the other seasons, autumn is also known as 'fall' in the United States, as the leaves from the trees fall off during this season. The term "autumn" came from the Latin word "autumn," whereas the word "fall" was likely a deviation from the Old English words "fiaell" and "feallan," both of the meanings are the same, which means "to fall from somewhere or from a particular height." autumn comes between the summer and winter seasons. During autumn, the temperature gradually decreases as winter is the next season. In polar regions, the period for this season is very short. Autumn is the period between the autumnal equinox in the Northern Hemisphere. At this time, the duration of daylight becomes more concise compared to summer, and it keeps getting shorter till winter. The animals prepare themselves by traveling to warmer regions and storing food for the upcoming winter cold. The Americans typically refer to this time of year as "fall," while the British use the word "autumn."

Culture of Autumn

In European countries, the idea of Autumn is mainly connected with the harvesting of crops. That is because just like the other seasons have their unique cultures, the culture of autumn has been attached to resolve the importance of food production. The weather during this period also gets colder (that we already know), which is why many plants stop making food. The process of photosynthesis slows down. Autumn is when deciduous trees shed their leaves, and till winter, all the leaves fall off. But it starts in autumn.

The weather of Autumn

The weather forecasts say that the temperature at this time is not too high or too low; it is less warm than the summer heat and less cool than the winter cold. But the temperature decreases gradually and keeps falling as winter starts arriving. During autumn, the temperature keeps changing all day long. The temperature is mostly cool, and the weather is rainy.

Autumn is famous for the harvesting that is done in this season and the leaves changing their visuals. Also, this time is called the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness. The colors associated with fall (or autumn) are orange, red, yellow, and brown, inspired by the seasonal changing of leaves' colors, which can be seen as the leaves change their colors during this time and as temperatures drop. We may be sentimental about remembering the dreamy long-gone school days or how excited we used to be when we were children, knowing Halloween is on the way and a big chance for us to enjoy the occasion.

Fruits that are available during fall:

  • Apples.
  • Asian Pears.
  • Bell Peppers.
  • Cranberries.
  • Dates.
  • Figs.
  • Grapes.
  • Persimmons.
  • Damsons
  • Rhubarb
  • Plums
  • Pears

At this time, autumn is almost gone from the list of seasons due to the damaged ozone layer. Global warming has defected the climate and changed the temperature of autumn; hence, now we don't get a cool environment this season.
