Involuntary muscle is referred to as smooth muscle. Involuntary muscles are those that cannot contract and relax in accordance with the will of the organism. These muscles do not have transverse striations. This is why these muscles are also known as smooth or unmarked muscles. Hollow organ walls, passageways, tracts, the eye, and the skin all contain smooth muscle fibers.
